Pricing and Quotes

How do I pay?

We take the usual payment methods on the day. You'll already know the figure by then, so there's nothing left to work out on the doorstep.

Can the price change once you start?

No. We settle the figure with you before any tool comes out. That figure holds regardless of what the job turns up along the way.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No call-out fee, full stop. You're paying for the drain to get fixed, not for the van to pull up outside.

What does "$65 off your first service" cover?

New customers get $65 taken off their first job with us. It comes straight off the fixed price we've already agreed before work starts.

Who You Are Letting In the Door

Who actually turns up?

An owner-led local team, including a specialist who focuses on drain and sewer work specifically. No sub-contracted strangers, and no call centre standing between you and the person doing the job.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. Quality workmanship guaranteed on every visit, explained plainly rather than buried in the fine print of an invoice.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C, fully insured, and covering water and gas both.

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

One go with a plunger is fine on a straightforward sink or shower drain. Beyond that, hired eels and chemical cleaners tend to do more harm than good, and if the same spot keeps clogging up, that points to something underneath a plumber needs to actually track down.

Booking, Timing and Turnaround

What happens after I call?

We talk through what's going on, book in a time that works, and get to the actual diagnosis once we're on site. Nothing gets fixed until you've heard what's wrong and agreed the price.

What counts as a drain emergency?

Sewage backing up into the house, water pooling around fixtures with nowhere to go, or a blockage that's stopped you using the toilet altogether. Anything like that jumps the queue.

Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Yes. A blocked drain doesn't check a calendar, and neither do we. Weekend and public holiday calls get the same response as any weekday.

How quickly can you clear a blocked drain?

Same-day service is the standard, not a stretch goal. Most Lewisham jobs called through in the morning are sorted before the day's out.

Local Answers for Lewisham

Lewisham has a few drain problems that keep showing up more than others.

Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?

As a general rule, everything from your fixtures through to the connection point on the boundary is your responsibility. Sydney Water takes over from that point out toward the main. If it's not obvious which side a blockage sits on, we work that out once we're there rather than guessing over the phone.

Why do older Lewisham homes keep getting blockages?

A lot of Lewisham was built during the railway boom of the 1880s and 1890s, and the earthenware and clay drainage laid then is still doing the job in plenty of terraces and semis. That material gets brittle with age, and the joints are the first thing to give.

Why do tree roots block so many Lewisham drains?

The suburb's leafy heritage streets come with mature trees, and their roots chase moisture straight into the joints of those old clay lines. Once a root's inside, it thickens every season until the pipe closes over.

Why does my drain block again after heavy rain?

Lewisham sits within the piped Hawthorne Canal catchment, and a hard downpour can push more stormwater through the system than it's built to carry. When that happens, it surcharges and backs up at whatever point in the network is weakest.
